actor - singer - teaching artist
ABOUT
Summer Dawn (she/her/ella) is an Asian/Hispanic actor based in the Greater New York area in Jersey City, N.J.
She loves doing comedic plays, Shakespeare and any projects that involve singing. She's also always loves arguing passionately, sobbing her heart out and being super spacey and ditzy -- on camera, that is.
She is fluent in English and Spanish, and is also a native speaker of a Filipino dialect, Ilonggo/Hiligaynon, which also helps her pronounce Tagalog words with ease. She's also an emerging Brazilian Portuguese and Japanese learner.
She frequently performs monologues and original music alongside other BIPOC artists for her company In Full Color, whose clients include colleges, universities, corporate groups and government agencies around the world.
She's also a theater/writing teaching artist for Lincoln Center Theatre, Young Audiences of NJ & Eastern PA and Storytelling Arts, working with grades Pre-K to 12. She's also an energetic, warm and adaptable host, having led a wide range of events -- small, intimate shows; large, outdoor concerts; virtual corporate performances; and educational talkbacks.
